Derivation related confirmation¶
Overview¶
With Next Design, you can ensure traceability while editing the model by checking and editing the derivation relationship between models when editing the model in the editor.
Below, we will explain how to check and edit the derivation-related items in the following order.
- Check the derivation relationship between models
- Edit derivation relationships between models
- Confirm whether there is a derivation relationship
- Check derivation related details
Check derivation relationships between models¶
To see the derivation relationships between the models:
Operating procedure
- Display two models side by side according to the above Model 2 screen display.
- Make sure the following check boxes are checked on the ribbon.
- Display> Editor> Trace Lines check box on the ribbon
- Ribbon Display> Editor> Indicator check box
- When you select a model in the editor, the trace lines connected to that model are highlighted in orange.
Reference
- For more information about the indicator and how to use it, see "Confirming whether there is a derivation relationship" below.
Hint
- You can check and edit derivation related not only on diagrams but also on forms.
Attention
- If the model of the derivation related destination is outside the range of the screen display, the trace line will not be displayed even if the indicator shows that there is a derived relationship.
- In that case, please scroll so that the model of the derivation related destination is displayed on the screen.
Edit the derivation relationship between models¶
Follow the steps below to add or delete derived relationships between models.
Operating procedure
- Point to the model in one editor and drag the [+] icon displayed in the upper right of the model.
- While dragging, a [○] icon is displayed at the upper left of each model on the other editor. Drop the trace line on the [○] icon of the model you want to connect.
- Once the derivation associations are connected, trace lines are displayed between the models.
- To delete the derived association, select the trace line and press the Del key.
Attention
- A derived relationship cannot be added unless the profile defines a derivable relationship that can be added between entities. The [+] icon on the upper right of the model is not displayed either.
- The [+] icon may not be displayed in the upper right corner when pointing to the model. In that case, click in the area of the editor and then point to the model.
Check whether there is a derivation relationship¶
When you display the models in the editor, a small rectangle is displayed to the left and right of each model, indicating whether it is related to the derivation. This display is called Indicator.
Info
- The indicator is displayed even when only one editor is displayed.
- When the models are displayed in form view, they are displayed as vertical rectangles on the left and right ends of each model.
The meanings of the left and right indicators and their display are as follows.
Display Location | Meaning |
---|---|
Left | Derivation related derivation origin |
Right | Derivation related derivation destination |
Display color | Meaning |
---|---|
Blue | Records related to derivation |
Outline | No record related to derivation |
Note
- If you don't see the indicator for each model, make sure the Display> Editor> Indicator checkbox on the ribbon is checked.
